Wishing you strength as you take this important step in your treatment journey. Many in this community understand the mix of emotions that can come with starting treatment, and it's completely normal to have questions about what to expect - from the logistics of appointments to how you might feel during and after sessions. This community is here to support you through each step, so feel free to share your experiences or ask questions as they come up.

I completely agree - this community truly understands what you're going through, and don't hesitate to ask about the little practical things too, like what to bring or how long appointments usually take, since those details can really help ease first-day nerves.

Hello, I was diagnosed with T2 sarcomatoid Urethiel Carcinoma in April 2025. I had the tumor removed on May 8th. Because the cancer is rare and aggressive, and was muscle invasive, it was recommended to me to have a radical robotic surgery to remove my bladder, all of my female organs, remove 22 lymph nodes, take 6 inches of my small intestine to create an ilea conduit for a stoma. I have completed 6 Keytruda treatments. My recent PEt scan revealed I am cancer free. I have had side affects from Keytruda since my first infusion. My thyroid no longer works without medication, I have blurred vision from the prednisone I took when my thyroid was acting up. I am experiencing dry mouth and haven’t beee to tolerate the prescribed meds or OTC medication to help. My teeth are very sensitively to hot and cold and it literally hurts to chew my food. I feel so tired all the time, so tired that I need to find a chair to sit in for the exhaustion to subside so I can continue what I was doing. After this lengthy description, my question is: if my scans show NO cancer, do I to continue with Keytruda treatments for a full year? I don’t Keytruda to harm anything else in my body. Does any expert reading my story have any knowledge about any similar cases. I’ve been told that I need to do Keytruda treatments for 1 year. For me I have 12 more treatments to go. I’m worried yet feel vulnerable if I stop the treatments. I was told that if the cancer comes back and it could in my liver, lungs, or my bones and it would be stage 4 cancer.

I forgot to tell you that I had the 7 hour robotic surgery on June 10 2025. Thanks to anyone with information.
