This is such a thoughtful question that many in the breast cancer community can relate to. Cancer journeys often come with an overwhelming amount of advice from well-meaning friends, family, and even strangers - some incredibly helpful and some that misses the mark entirely. Sharing these experiences can help others navigate similar situations and feel less alone in sorting through all the input they receive.

Worst: a few days before my double mastectomy, my sister-in-law told me I was making the biggest mistake of my life. (she has no medical background) Worst: my Mother asked me how ‘my health complications’ were going and she has health ‘issues’ too. (old age) Worst: oncology, just take these drugs but don’t ask any questions.

Best: advocate for yourself and ask lots of questions. Do your research.
