Recovery timelines can vary significantly from person to person, and many factors can influence healing after major surgery. It's completely understandable to have concerns about pain levels during recovery, and connecting with your medical team about what you're experiencing can help ensure you're getting the support and pain management you need. I actually didn't have much pain the first week. After they took my drains out at 7 days and instructed me to start a series of physical therapy exercises it's constantly sore but not intolerable. I would definitely ask your surgeon about it.

I had pain first two weeks then last 2, were better. I developed a bad radiation burn and dermatitis on week 3 that’s been very painful and scabbed over several times. Putting Aquaphor and Aloe 2-3x day. It was a long work post surgery with drains for 3 weeks and then the burn!

Hi I had a bilateral masectomy 3 weeks ago, and I'm still in pain, extremely uncomfortable most of the day. I thought it was my drains, but nope. They are out, and I'm still in pain. I don't know when it ends, but I'm so fed up with not being able to do normal things or move around freely. Not everyone is the same, and we all heal differently. Some people don't have much pain and heal quicker. While others have continuous pain and take longer to heal. It's unfortunate, but it will be ok. Eventually, we all get to that comfortable and acceptable place where we will feel a little normal. All the very best to all ♥️
