Does anyone else get very speedy with steroids they make you take before chemo? Takes me days to slow down.

Yes, steroids given before chemotherapy can definitely cause that energized, restless feeling that takes time to wear off. This is a common experience that many people going through treatment notice, as these medications can affect sleep patterns and energy levels for several days. It might help to discuss timing or dosage adjustments with your care team if this side effect is particularly disruptive to your routine.

I generally had a lot of energy the day of chemo but would crash the next day. It’s the only day where I felt like myself but it doesn’t last long.

I was told to take two the day before, I only took one and didn't shut up or stay seated, much less close my eyes and sleep. Lasted almost 36 hrs, it's horrible. I was supposed to take one today, day after, I didn't. I'll have to find a different drug. Weird?

I'm on Enhertu, and my side effects are to a minimum. Some days, they show up, and before I know, they go away. I must say, I feel great, I lost some weight, and I enjoy doing things. I hope this drug works. I have 8 more infusions. I hope you ladies feel great too, and enjoy it while you can.

Catherine, for me chemo did not get worse after each infusion. Some of the side effects were different however. My oncologist would adjust my treatment each time to minimize the side effects. I have one or two max more treatments. Best of luck to you.

Thank you guys 🩷 for responding! Sometimes I feel very alone in this. It's good for me to hear I am NOT alone, and if y'all can do this, I can too.

I was told to take before 2 pm. Otherwise I wouldn’t sleep. Latest I have taken it is 3 pm. No problem sleeping. My family jokes that they take advantage of me during this time. I cleaned all 3 of my mom’s bathrooms top to bottom last time (she’s 83), she wants me to do her kitchen cabinets and pantry this round🤪
