I once chose not to use a blocker and in 4 years it came back and I now am stage lV metastatic breast cancer. I ended up chemo 5 months, mastectomy , radiation, ibrance, Letrozole, Zometa in fusions every 4 months. I also have PET scan every 3 months with CTDNA. I wish I would have done the hormone therapy. I know there is a test to see if you have high levels of estrogen or the new CTDNA. Tells you if you have breast cancer cells in your blood steam. The test is only $265 dollars. If you chose no blocker you could do this test every 3to 4 months and you would catch it before it lands and a tumor appears.

I have IDC breast cancer stage 2A/grade 2. ER/PR+ HER2- negative with 1 lymph node metastisized . Lumpectomy ,sentinel node dissection. The oncotype test on my breast tumor gave me % recurrence score.

My medical oncologist ordered the oncotype test from my biopsy information after I had my surgery for HR+ HER2- with no lymph node involvement. They caught my invasive breast cancer early (8 mm) through an MRI w/contrast. It could not be seen on mammo or ultrasound. Radiologist said she did not recommend radiation for me since I was tolerating the letrozole. My oncotype report showed "Distant Recurrence Risk at 10 years for patients over 50 at 5% w/aromatase inhibitor alone." My recurrence score result was 7. A score between 0 and 10 is considered low.
