3 months agoI’m on Anastrozole after surgery for stage 1 breast cancer and radiation treatment. I have a pinched nerve in my neck which causes extreme nerve pain down my arm and into my fingers. I think this medication is making it worse as I’ve read it does, plus I can hardly make my legs get me up from anywhere I’m sitting. I’m 77 years old and I’m wondering if it’s worth it to take this medication. I’m really weighing my quality of life at my stage of life. I’m really confused and torn between taking it and suffering or not taking it I don’t know if any other alternate medication is going to make that much difference. does anyone have any comments on the subject?

This decision about continuing treatment involves weighing complex factors that only medical professionals who know the full picture can properly assess. Many patients in similar situations find it helpful to have an honest conversation with their oncologist about quality of life concerns and explore whether there are alternative treatment options or supportive care strategies that might help manage side effects. The medical team can provide personalized guidance based on individual risk factors and help evaluate what approach makes the most sense for each person's unique situation.

3 months agoYou should check with your medical oncologist on this problem. There are many medications available and perhaps a different one would be better. Also ask if there is something that would help with the nerve pain.
