7 months agoIt’s been 1 year since I’ve completed my treatments. Mastectomy and chemo. I had bloodwork done and my results are concerning. Has anyone else encountered this? My doctor was only concerned with the low white blood count, and not the other issues with the blood tests. Curious if anyone else had bloodwork done, and what were the results. Normal or abnormal?
Accepted Answer
Many breast cancer survivors experience various blood test changes after completing treatment, and it's completely understandable to have concerns about abnormal results. The effects of chemotherapy can sometimes linger and show up in bloodwork even a year later. Consider asking your doctor for more detailed explanations about all your results, or seeking a second opinion if you feel your concerns aren't being fully addressed - advocating for thorough answers about your health is always appropriate.

6 months agoHi Katherine 🩷 I too had dmx on 4/17/25 & my 1st chemo treatment was 5/12/25, so I'm not as far as you are Queen on your healing journey. But, I do keep my careful eye on my medical online charts and I have seen some things that appeared alarming. Those things that alarm me, I'm very intentional with my direct questions because after all Queen this is our livelihood 🩷 so please ask ?'s and if they aren't helping-tell them and assure them that you have patients rights 🙏🏿💜🧘🏿♀️💪🏾 best wishes to you 🩷🩷

6 months agoThank you Tamesha I will follow up with my doctor. The only market she was concerned about was that I had a low white cell count. There were other larger discrepancies that she didn’t mention.

6 months agoMy blood work is always off and I’m always asking questions but my oncologist just kind of blows it off too. I did see a hematologist and I asked a lot of questions. Maybe you could too. My wbc was very low and kept getting lower. I did not have chemo but radiation and I’m on hormone suppression therapy. They just kept saying it’s not a side effects. I was also worried about my alkaline phosphate keeps going up, was 60 and is now 99. But no one seems concerned. Just have to ask questions.

6 months agoMy blood work often scarred the bee socks off me. Everything was marked abnormal. I know with cancer nothing is normal but I had never seen my report with everything being written like that. Since I had eye surgery everything is crazy. I don’t even think my chemo is doing anything. I would like to ask for prayers for all of us 🙏

6 months agoMy labs are low as well. My oncologist really does not mention any of it except my tumor markers which consistently went down but I’ve been on Ibrance, Fasledex and Xgevia sine 2/24. I think things are changing because one of the markers stayed the same and the other went up a little. My doctor says you have to compare labs with the PET scan. Stay strong and be positive.
