7 days agoThis sounds like a concerning situation that definitely needs medical attention. Abdominal abscesses, especially with an ileostomy, require proper evaluation and treatment from healthcare providers who can assess the specific location and severity. Treatment options can vary widely depending on factors like size, location, and underlying causes, so connecting with your medical team or seeking urgent care would be the best next step. Has anyone else in the community dealt with similar complications and found it helpful to advocate for prompt medical evaluation?

a day agoI had an abscess infection internally next to my ileostomy. What was concerning them is that my white blood count kept going up. What I had done was they basically gave me a shot into my a abdomen of heavy dose antibiotics and it worked my healing the infection I had to have a drain for a month. I'm not gonna lie, the procedure was extremely unpleasant and painful to deal with. I would rather have been put to sleep before they stuck up giant needle in to an infection in my abdomen, but they one reason or another they could not. Request general anesthesia if you can.
