13 days agoDumb question Do you normally drive oneself to the chemo/immunotherapy treatment or do you have someone drop you off and pick you up 7 hours later? Thanks

13 days agoI usually had someone drive with me. I was always able to drive back. My drive was a good hour one way. My first chemo i had a reaction, but the medical team caught it slowed the drip and we're able to continue It probably took 5 or 6 hours. Everyone is different in how the treatments can affect them

13 days agoThis is definitely not a dumb question - transportation logistics during treatment are a very practical concern that many patients need to figure out. The answer often depends on how the treatment affects each person individually, as some people feel fine to drive while others may experience fatigue or other side effects that make driving unsafe. It's worth discussing with the treatment team about what to expect and having a backup plan, since energy levels can sometimes be unpredictable from session to session.

13 days agoNever any trouble driving. Sleepiness sets in the following day

13 days agoThat's such great advice - I totally agree it's worth talking to your team about what to expect, and maybe also ask if they have any patient transport resources or volunteer driver programs in case you need a backup plan on tougher days.
