How do I get through the side effects after my first round of treatment?

I completely agree about reaching out to your care team - they might also be able to connect you with a nutritionist who specializes in j-tube management to make the whole process less overwhelming.

I also found my first round not great It got better and now I am out 22 years God bless

I got some rest last night and that helped. Still very weak and tired. Definitely not up to making serious decisions

Try to keep track on a schedule as to how you feel after your treatments. It looks like I found that after about a day or two I started feeling better. So I planned my schedule to try to do things a day or two after the treatments

Sorry for not posting more. I have started to feel better especially yesterday and today. I have been working with my oncologist and she is going to decrease the amount by just a little. I want as much as I can stand without doing to much Anyway I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and safe travels. Next round Monday and Tuesday

David, how are you doing?

I’m still fighting. Esophagectomy is off the table because of metastatic/ spread to liver I’ve just finished a second round of chemotherapy along with 20 some odd radiation treatments to GE junction. Will hit the little spot on liver in a couple of weeks but I’ve got to have a break as these treatments have about taken me away. I also tripped on my feeding tube hose and jerked it completely out which required a two night hospital stay because the premadonna interventional radiologist don’t work on the weekends and then lied to me Sunday morning and promised that they would reinstall the j tube first thing Monday morning, I went back at 4:45 pm. Needless to say between being off the feeding tube and nothing after midnight by mouth I was a very unhappy patient

Every time I go for treatments David, I see quite a few people having a very rough time. It saddens me. I watched my Mother go through chemotherapy due to stage 4 breast cancer. First treatment almost took her out. I hope your situation has a good ending David. At first, the plan for my situation was FLOT chemo, four round, followed by surgery, then four more rounds. My biomarkers showed that I have a very rare gene that allowed me to dodge chemo, and get immunotherapy alone. Thank you for responding David. I see messages like yours from months ago, and it troubles me. Stay Strong. And I sure hope you don’t have anymore stumbles that cause even more trouble.
