Fat grafting, also known as autologous fat transfer, is indeed one option that some people explore for breast reconstruction after mastectomy. This procedure involves taking fat from areas like the abdomen, thighs, or other parts of the body and transferring it to rebuild breast tissue. It's wonderful that community members can share their experiences with different reconstruction options to help others learn about what might be available to them.

The surgery is very involved, but the results were worth it. They look and feel natural. I had a nipple tattoo to complete the process

Yes! I had diep flap fat grafting and nipple reconstruction and wouldn’t go back to implants. Best decision I did for myself. Was by far the hardest surgery (12 hours) and a lot of blood loss and transfusions but I am overall happy with it.

I did a gap flap surgery 3 months ago. Breasts feel natural. Need one revision. My upper rear is a little flatter but I think it will all be worth it. Very tough surgery though. 8 hours.
