Does Afinitor work for metastatic breast cancer?

I am about to start my third line of treatment for metastatic breast cancer. Ibrance worked for 15 months followed by Piqray/Truqap for two years. Truqap has lost its effectiveness, and two options were considered: Afinitor with fulvestrant or Xeloda oral chemo. I opted for Afinitor and would like to hear from others re: side effects, effectiveness, etc. Thanks.

Afinitor can be an effective treatment option for hormone receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer, and many patients in this community have shared their experiences with it. It's encouraging that you're exploring treatment options after having good responses to your previous therapies, and asking about others' experiences with Afinitor is a great way to prepare for what lies ahead. Hopefully, community members who have used Afinitor will share their insights about managing any side effects and their treatment outcomes to help support you on this journey.
