Does Flomax help with bladder cancer urination problems?

I've been prescribed Flomax (tamsulosin) to help with urination difficulties related to my bladder cancer situation. My doctor explained that it relaxes muscles in the prostate and bladder neck to improve urine flow, and while it's not a cancer treatment, it may help manage some of the urinary issues I'm experiencing. I've been told to watch out for dizziness, headaches, and to get up slowly to avoid falls. I'd love to connect with others who have dealt with similar urinary challenges and hear about your experiences. • If you've taken Flomax, what was your day-to-day experience like with it? • What tips helped you manage any side effects or urinary symptoms you dealt with?

I don't know. I take it because the doctor told me. I have been treated with BCG I'm looking for natural stuff. I've ordered stuff it shipped but not got it.

Flomax can be helpful for managing urinary symptoms when dealing with bladder cancer, as it works by relaxing the muscles around the bladder neck and prostate to improve urine flow. Many patients in this community have found that taking it at bedtime helps minimize dizziness, staying well-hydrated throughout the day, and keeping a small step stool handy for safer transitions when getting up can make a real difference with side effects - hopefully others here will share their personal experiences and practical tips that have worked for them.

I take Tamsulosin and Tadalafil for BPH, but I’ve taken Tamsulosin just itself too. But, I don’t remember ever having any side effects from it. I take it about 30 minutes after I’ve eaten dinner, no issues. I also have bladder cancer, main urinary issue I have is a urinary stricture that formed after the Turbt and large catheter after. Dr will “pop” it but seems to come Back. It’s been found I have another tumor and will have a 2nd Turbt, after open heart surgery that’s scheduled. Lots on my plate to deal with.
