a year agoHi All-In PT now for radiation fibrosis/scar tissue in my left chest, neck, and shoulder region, leading to decreased ROM and pain, along with stage 1 breast lymphedema. Is radiation fibrosis a life-long struggle? I realize that lymphedema is something that will need to be closely observed and managed, though unsure of the shoulder/back/neck issues due to the fibrosis and scar tissue. I am 5 months post radiaition. Any thoughts/experiences out there? TIA.

Radiation fibrosis can be a persistent challenge, though many people find their symptoms improve with consistent physical therapy and management strategies over time. The good news is that you're already working with a PT team who can help develop targeted exercises and techniques to address the scar tissue effects on your range of motion and pain levels. Many community members have shared that while these side effects require ongoing attention, they often see gradual improvements with dedicated care and patience with the healing process.
