a year agoHas anyone else here chosen simply not to treat? I have stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer and yet, right now, I'm too badly off. It Metz'd to bone....all over....but I want as much quality for as long as possible, rather than quantity.

Many people in this community have faced similar difficult decisions about their care path, and each person's choice about what feels right for them deserves respect and understanding. Quality of life considerations are deeply personal, and connecting with others who understand this journey can provide valuable perspective and support during this challenging time.

6 months agoI chose not to take the usual chemotherapy. I was also metastatic. I took a targeted treatment instead which had a lot less side effects. I took Kadcyla and continued working and enjoying life. Later I also had radiation and surgery. I was diagnosed 5 years ago and there is no evidence of disease now.

6 months agoI think in the same situation I would not treat. As is I refused chemo and radiation and took a surgery only option. To me, quality is way more important than quantity. Thankfully, my husband and children all agreed and have been onboard with me declining treatments that weren't conducive to quality of life.

6 months ago72 and decided against chemotherapy. Think I am too old - quality of life issue. Taking hormone inhibitor Anastrozole & side effects are bearable - hope for tumor shrinkage and then they can do surgery in the fall.
