2 years agoHas anyone been told they can’t eat sushi while on chemo?
Accepted Answer
Many people going through chemotherapy do receive guidance about avoiding raw fish and sushi due to potential food safety concerns during treatment when the immune system may be compromised. It's definitely worth checking with your oncology team about their specific recommendations for your situation, as guidelines can vary based on individual treatment plans and current blood counts.

6 months agoHandling raw meat is also discouraged, so I tell my husband has to step it up and prepare the meat for dinner. Salad bars are something to stay away from too. I said it’s kind of like being pregnant again with all the stuff they want you to avoid.
