Hello all, anyone have reaction to filgrastim shots? I had terrible diarrhea hours after getting it. I’m on TCPH chemo but side effects had been getting better.

Many people in treatment do experience digestive side effects from filgrastim, including diarrhea, as it can affect the body in various ways while supporting your treatment plan. It's encouraging to hear that your other side effects had been improving - that shows your body has been adapting well to the treatment process. Consider discussing this reaction with your care team so they can help you manage any discomfort and determine the best approach moving forward.

I almost went to the ER on that shot. My doc removed it from my treatment plan. They tell you to take Claritin with it but that didn't do a thing to help with the side effects. Horrible headache and felt like someone was breaking all of my bones with a hammer. Couldn't eat sleep or walk. Horrible! It finally wore off after about 9 days. I am currently just riding out the treatments with no shots. Good luck to you.

I had two injections after my neutrophils dropped to 1.1 My only symptoms felt like little shock waves throughout my body that settled in lower back. That lasted one day. I was told to take Claritin which I always do daily anyway for allergies. I do think it helped, but I have been taking that for over a year so I believe it was built up in my system. Fortunately it boosted my immunity and I haven’t had to take injections for last two weeks. Hope you are feeling better.
