4 months agoI’ve been on Letrozole since June 16th. Do the side effects get better as time goes on ?
Accepted Answer
Many patients find that side effects from Letrozole can change over time, though everyone's experience is different. It's encouraging that you're tracking how you feel since starting in June - sharing your experiences here can help others going through similar journeys, and hearing from community members who've been on this medication longer might provide helpful insights.

4 months agoMe again! In my personal experience it did after about 6 months. I’ve heard similar from lots of other women too. But maybe try and post this in the HR+ HER2- group and see if you can get more members to share their experience! 💛 Suzanne (Community Moderator)

4 months agoI’ve had several side effects from anastrozole. Nausea went away when i started taking it at bedtime. Hot flashes seem to be subsiding on their own. I had plenty of joint pain before anastrozole, sometimes it seems to be worse but not sure it’s the drug. Have been taking for almost 9 months.

4 months agoJust started anastrazole and kisqali last week. Having some minor side effects so doctor has me holding kisqali for a week to try to determine where side effects are coming from. Glad to see that some of my side effects are normal.

4 months agoI am going to concur with the above. I have been on letrozol for 2.5 months now and I take it at night. Unfortunately , I wake up at around 2 or 3 am and I am soaked, but I don't deal with it during the day. I have not experienced any other side effects such as muscle fatigue or Joint pain, so it's still a wait and see. Good luck with your choices, prayers for good health.

4 months agoWhich joints are involved? My worst joints are my knees and ankles; both knees and my right ankle were problems before my diagnosis but they all felt much worse this year after 6 months of anastrozole. I went and got steroid injections in my knees 2 months ago and they are so much better now. Even my ankles are better. Orthopedic specialist did the injections. Have had them before.

3 months agoIt gets a little better or more tolerable. I tried it at night but because I am getting up every 2 hours to visit the bathroom, I get nauseous and have to eat something. So I am back to right after breakfast. Stay hydrated, and be blessed

2 months agoMy mood... man am I glad that is subsided a bit. My son heard me swear like a sailor two weeks ago, and for the record it wasn't directed at him. My hips, when I'm trying to sleep. I'm trying to figure out if my shins hurt because I'm doing something stupid or shoes or letrozole. I have to have faith this will subside. Good luck to you too.

2 months agoI’ve been on Letrozole for almost a year. I get a lot of joint paint (hands and knees). I was advised to take it at night too. I believe that it helps. Also, I have gotten insomnia since I’ve been taking it. The joint pain doesn’t go away, but exercise helps tremendously. Plus, I try to focus on other things to keep my mind off of everything.
