10 months agoI have four more radiation treatments left. What should I expect after completing my radiation therapy?
Accepted Answer
Completing radiation treatments is certainly a significant milestone worth celebrating. Many find that fatigue may continue for a few weeks after finishing, and skin sensitivity in the treated area often gradually improves with gentle care - your medical team will provide specific guidance on what to expect based on your treatment plan and how you've been responding.

6 months agoHello. I will start my radiation soon, any tips on how to survive this ordeal?

6 months agoI’ve had a total of 33 treatments, and it hasn’t been too terribly bad—mostly feels like a bad sunburn. It does itch every once in a while, but your doctor should be able to prescribe you a steroid cream to help with that. I’ve also been using Aquaphor and some other radiation creams I found on Amazon, which have been helpful. You’ll probably start feeling more tired after a couple of weeks, so be sure to rest when you need to. Also, drink plenty of water, as the treatments can dry out your skin. Hope this helps, and wishing you the best!

6 months agoI had 20 rounds of radiation. 15 whole breast. 5 targeted. I was very tired during the first 3 weeks and then with the targeted I got my energy back. I was able to rest a lot during treatment (reduced workload) and really tried to listen to my body. Drink lots of water, eat as healthy as you can and rest. I used Cerave cream daily and some cortisone cream where I got a bit of a rash (nothing horrible).
