2 years agoIs a persistent cough a side effect of anastrozole and if so, any suggestions because nothing is working and it is really distressing- I did have a chest x-ray and told radiation pneumonitis but that was over a month ago and still coughing!
Accepted Answer
Persistent coughs can be concerning, especially when they continue for weeks and interfere with daily life. While some patients do report respiratory symptoms while taking certain medications, it's important to follow up with your healthcare team about ongoing symptoms, particularly since you've already had imaging done. Many community members find it helpful to keep a symptom diary to share with their doctors, and some have found relief through working with their oncology team to explore different management strategies.

6 months agoRadiation pneunonitis may take a while to resolve. My friend took over 3 months for coughing to go away. Are you receiving treatment for symptoms? She got breathing treatments, cough medicine, and steroids. Maybe the docs can give you some stronger cough meds. Hang in there and I hope you find relief soon.
