I had a double mastectomy with reconstruction on August 1 and now on Wednesday I start taxotere and cytoxan 4 cycles every 3weeks. I will have to return to work the following week. If anyone wants to share side effects or tips to get through this i would appreciate it

Hi Christy, I had the exact same chemo 6 years ago. 4 rounds as well. It really wasn’t that bad. The hair loss was the worse part, but getting different wigs was fun! I am retired now, but I was a school nurse, so my dr felt with all the kiddy germs, I should stay home. But there were days when I felt guilty for being home. I felt like I could have worked. Good luck with your treatment! 💕

I had my treatment and had a reaction with 1ml delivered. I had flushing of the face, coughing throat felt tight. They reverse it fast but want to try and new one tomorrow. I'm not feeling good bout it

I had a double mastectomy in February of 2023. I was out of work for 8 weeks. But I had to have radiation and was out again for 2 more months. I did not use my leave. I had short-term disability insurance, and I used that. I got 6 mos every year. I, too, have retired since then

Christy, how did the new treatment go? When you mentioned face flushing, I do remember that with the first dose! I remember my husband saying “your face is so red”, but it passed quickly and didn’t have any other symptoms. I did t have that reaction for the remaining 3 treatments! Good health to you!
