Treatment decisions for early-stage breast cancer can feel overwhelming, especially when factors like Oncotype scores come into play. Many community members have shared similar experiences with ILC and navigating these important conversations with their oncology teams - the discussion tomorrow will help clarify the specific benefits and considerations for this particular situation, and connecting with others who've faced similar decisions can provide valuable perspective and support.

Hi Jene, I hope your post op appt went well. I also had ILC. Wondering if you had any lymph node involvement? My tumor was 1.3 cm and a second one was 7 mm. My onc was 17. No chemo recommended based on my onc- but my surgeon also mentioned chemo not always recommended with lobular cancer. Because it is much less common than ductal carcinoma, there hasn’t been as much research. Check out www.lobularbreastcancer.org

Thanks Lia, I’ll check that out ☺️ I don’t have any node involvement and my tumor was 1.5 - but my oncotype score is 32 😬 I will find out about chemo (pretty sure it’s 100 percent yes) at the consult with the oncologist.

Lol, no worries. Was your tumor detected on a mammogram? Just wondering. I felt very lucky mine was caught at stage 1 as well. Btw, I am 61. Assuming you did radiation after the lumpectomy? Keep me posted. Wishing you good luck!🙏

I was diagnosed with ILC and had bilateral mastectomy July 11. They did MammaPrint and Blueprint which determined I would benefit from TC chemo, due to higher recurrence rate. I had 3 nodes involved. Had my first treatment 8/26. Felt great the next day . They gave me Neulasta to fight infection. Infused via arm stick on Tuesday. Felt pretty bad Thursday on. Like the flu- muscle aches- diarrhea-fatigue . Hope it’s over soon cause I didn’t expect to get my butt kicked in the first round!
