Is anyone triple positive taking taxol for 3 months (1 a week) and 20 sessions of radiation? What are the side affects? Did you experience hair loss? How was radiation 5 times a week?

This is a great question about treatment side effects that many others in similar situations wonder about. Taxol combined with radiation can have various effects that differ from person to person, including potential hair changes, fatigue, and skin reactions at the radiation site. The daily radiation schedule can feel intense, but many find it becomes part of their routine. Connecting with others who have been through similar treatment plans here in the community can provide valuable insights and support during this time.

I had 9 weeks of taxol. Lost all of my hair. Had 25 sessions of radiation. By the 24th one I was in tears but did do the last one(25th). Everyone reacts differently. But this was how it was for me.

I am not on meds since I have a strong family medical history of stroke and DVT. I will finish my radiation this week. I tolerated radiation therapy well. From the beginning, I did have trouble with some skin peeling under my breast. Now I have skin skin peeling on the side of my breast close to my underarm. It's the same type of peeling one may experience after a sunburn. The treatments are short and painless. Follow the directions given to you: hydrate well, apply a good fragrance free moisturizer, and know you will experience fatigue. Again, there are helpful tips that are provided. I went on my own to therapy although many offered to give me rides. Personally, I reserve my loving helpers to for the activities I may not be able to get to.

I finished 3 months of chemo about 3 weeks ago. Start radiation end of this week. Chemo was not terrible. Lost about 75% of my hair, but I can see it’s starting to fill a little now. The first night after treatment always felt like i had a bad cold, hard to sleep. The last 4-5 weeks, I would get a bloody nose, ocassionally twitchy eye’s. Freeze your finger/toes during taxol, plan your meals. Make sure you’re hydrated. I watched Dr. Kristi Funk on YouTube, she has great info

I had 12 weeks of taxol - every week. I kept my hair for all 12 weeks. It thinned a lot but I was able to cut it shorter several times & it was good. For my last 2 treatments they changed my chemo to abraxane & 3 weeks AFTER my last chemo, all my hair fell out. I truly think the abraxane did it.
