Has anyone experienced proton radiation treatment?

Hi Beverly. Why proton? Does that decrease radiation to non-breast sites?

I wish I had looked into proton radiation, I had radiation whole breast and now have fibrosis of the lung.

Diana, do you have a large area of lung involved affecting your breathing? Rad onc told me would be less than 10% of lung of the treated side.

No, not a large area and mild. No issues with breathing.

I had 5 proton radiation treatments to my sternum at the Emory Proton Center in Dec 2022. The treatments were not too bad but I did have some skin issues i.e. sensitivity, rash and discoloration. Good luck with yours.
