8 months agoI am getting ready to start proton radiation treatments soon. Has anyone else been through it and what was your experience with it . Thanks

Proton radiation is a specialized treatment that many patients find manageable, though experiences can vary from person to person. Community members often share helpful tips about what to expect during treatment sessions and ways to take care of skin in the treatment area. Connecting with others who have been through similar treatments can provide valuable insights and support during this part of your cancer journey.

6 months agoHi Beverly. Why proton? Does that decrease radiation to non-breast sites?

6 months agoDiana, do you have a large area of lung involved affecting your breathing? Rad onc told me would be less than 10% of lung of the treated side.

6 months agoI had 5 proton radiation treatments to my sternum at the Emory Proton Center in Dec 2022. The treatments were not too bad but I did have some skin issues i.e. sensitivity, rash and discoloration. Good luck with yours.
