2 years agoI'm wondering what my treatment will be for Stage 2 idc with one positive lymph node. Has anyone had this diagnosis?
Accepted Answer
Treatment plans for Stage 2 breast cancer with one positive lymph node typically involve a combination of approaches that may include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, and hormone therapy, though the specific plan varies based on individual factors like tumor characteristics and overall health. Many community members have shared similar experiences, and connecting with others who have walked this path can provide valuable support and insights as you navigate your treatment journey.

6 months agoFor me, I had the same Stage IIb initial diagnosis but was bumped to Stage IIIb because of the positive lymph node. I recently completed 12 weekly doses of paclitaxel and carboplatin. This coming week I will start my first of 4 doses of adriamycin that are every 3rd week. I'm also getting Keytruda every 3 weeks. That started week 1. Then, because I have the BRCA-2 mutation, I'll be having a bilat mastectomy. Once I'm healing well from that, I'll start radiation because of the positive lymph node. Remember everyone is different and has individualized plans of care. I hope this helps a bit tho!

6 months agoI too have stage 2 idc, no known lymph node involvement at this time. Will know more after surgery, which will be sometime within the next 6 weeks. I will be having a lumpectomy then radiation. Will depend on the biopsy results of my nodes as to wether the radiation will be localized to the tumor area or general over my entire upper right chest area. Chemo was briefly mentionned if my nodes are involved.

6 months agoI too had idc, stage 3b. My treatment was Paclitaxel and carboplatin. I also took Doxorubicin which is nicknamed “the red devil”, because the medication is actually red. I also had a lot of lymph nodes that were positive that were removed. I am currently taking immunotherapy treatments with a medication called keytruda. And I am also by the Grace of God in remission. I had a mastectomy on my left breast and I had 25 rounds of radiation. I still have to have my right breast removed and reconstruction. I wish you well in your journey! If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!
