2 months agoAnyone on Exemestane?? Does it bother your heart??

2 months agoHeart-related side effects can be a concern with some breast cancer treatments, so it's completely understandable to ask about this. Many community members have shared their experiences with exemestane and various side effects, so hopefully others will chime in with their perspectives to help you feel less alone in navigating this treatment journey.

2 months agoI've been wondering about this too - it's so helpful that you asked! It really makes me feel less alone knowing others are thinking about the same concerns with exemestane.

2 months agoI have to say I believe it does or can affect the heart. I had an episode of flutters and elevated BP sonI went to the ER, but no help. Cardiologist gave me meds, monitored BP and it subsided, but I still get blurps.... Seeing dr in a couple weeks. Every med has side effects, just have to find the right one u can handle. Not that many....... Hope this helped.

15 days agoJust started in June switched from Letrozole to Exemestane as joint pain was unbearable, yes each has side Effects and each human reacts differently so need to find med that is effective with tolerable effects, oncologist says for rest of my life. Radiation and Letrozole caused cardiac/pulmonary damage and now diagnosed with osteoporosis also side effect so ugh, now on calcium and will try Fosamax which also caused cardiac issues. I have invasive lobular left breast & 7 lymph nodes, all surgically removed prior to 2 months daily radiation which has caused long term health challenges. Frustrating that oncology just wants To keep giving me more toxic drugs ( Verzinio and bone/anti cancer infusions) when my body has never recovered from all the back to back surgeries, Letrozole and radiation damage, for me at 69 it’s quality of life and Maintaining my ADL ‘s & independence as long as possible, cancer does not get cured by these toxic treatments just delays its return. Has anyone tried broccoli sulf. supplements with any luck? Treatments have caused esophageal constriction and changed appetite and what I can Eat ( about 6-8 items that change weekly now) so looking for quality supps that can support healing, along with my FAITH and the blessing of living alone independently still with my fur babies and 2/5 adult kids within 45 mins away! Prayers, Faith & Blessings to all warriors on this life journey🙏✝️♥️

15 days agoI decided I’m 67 years old with some heart issues before the cancer so I did the lumpectomy, chemo, radiation, and phesgo !! I wasn’t going to take the pill for 5 or 10 years!! I want to live out rest of my life without more complications!! So it’s been 1 1/2 years free !!! Looking for many more!!

15 days agoThink at 69 I am starting to agree with this philosophy, my sweet kids don’t want me to stop fighting but one year of daily fighting loss of strength, vitality & independence with old quality of life from just a year ago being so changed, I understand the soul sucking spiritual exhaustion. I have been blessed and worked hard since my teens to develop a loving family life, blessed with many children & grands, medical career, military world travel and now looking for Quality vs QUANTITY for the GIFT of Every Day! Our system should have been able to prevent and cure breast CA in last 30 years ( Big Pharma ) in this and other diseases arenas stand to suffer too much loss financially for cures and non toxic options, basically breast cancer treatment protocols have not improved much in last 30 years!!! Testing and trials for lobular breast CA truly lags behind even more! The wealthy can use their private pay options to prolong life which honors Quality, sadly those of us at the mercy of insurance have only these toxic options that cause so much damage we can no longer recognize our bodies or enjoy the moments of life without great struggles to just function…we all have to make choices that honor our life’s goals & journey, praying perhaps the next generation will have more nontoxic, debilitating options to keep cancer at bay🙏♥️🙏

15 days agoA dear friend and my mentor during my breast cancer had breast cancer back in 2019. Took Tamox, chemo & radiation. Then had ovarian cancer, then liver cancer and last one, brain cancer. It was in her system and kept growing in different places. She past 2 wks ago. She went thru hell, but it gave her time. If its in ur system, it will continue to find a new home to grow. As for me, I will continue my meds and keep up with exams to keep cancer from growing. I dont want it to consume me, I want to consume it.
