a month agoIs anyone on Xeloda for Metastatic stage 4 breast cancer? I have been on it for about 8 months. I’ve had a severe case of hand/foot disease that went away after about a month and I experience extreme fatigue. I try working through it with smoothies and eating right although I don’t get much exercise as it metastasizes to my spine and I’ve had several breaks with lesions and am on opioids for the pain. How long have you responded to the drug?? And what has been your experience? Thank you in advance??

a month agoThis sounds like a challenging journey, and it's completely understandable to want to connect with others who have similar experiences with Xeloda. Treatment duration and response can vary significantly from person to person, so hearing from community members about their own timelines and side effect management strategies could provide valuable insights and support during this time.

a month agoI am so sorry you're having to take this powerful med, but it is often necessary. Exercise is quite a broad category. Even sitting in a chair, laying on the couch you can engage in stretching/mild exercise. Ask your medical oncologist about physical therapy and massage therapy. Opioids long-term don't work as well and can sensitize you to pain. Please discuss with your medical oncologist and don't take dismissal as an answer. I am so sorry for your pain. When a patient is at this point, I encourage you to look into holistic approaches- meditation, breathing exercises, and with approval from your doctor you might seek even acupressure and acupuncture.

a month agoIf you are still dealing with HFS and diarrhea, please message and call your team. There are prescription and nonprescription medications they will write for. They also might want to make sure you aren't starting to have more serious reactions to treatment and cancer.
