2 years agoI had a reoccurrence on same side as the first diagnosis in 2016. This last diagnosis was Jan. 2024. Surgery to remove the lump and the implants ( I’m over them just wanted them out). Now I’m waiting to start Proton therapy. Then once that is over I will do Verzenio for 2 years 110mg 2x’s a day plus start letrezole for 10 years. The effects from Verzenio isn’t something I’m looking forward too. 😩 I have gained 30 lbs from the first time with cancer. Not looking towards that. My cancer is 100% estrogen fed. Her2- .

Navigating a recurrence brings its own set of challenges, and it's completely understandable to feel apprehensive about the treatment side effects ahead. Many in this community have walked similar paths with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer and can offer insights about managing treatment experiences. The combination therapy approach has helped many patients, and connecting with others who've been through proton therapy or similar medication regimens might provide helpful perspectives as treatment begins.
