Radiation experiences vary from person to person, with some finding it more manageable than expected while others face fatigue and skin irritation that typically improves after treatment ends. Many community members have shared helpful tips about both radiation and hormone therapy side effects, so connecting with others who've been through similar treatments can provide valuable insights and reassurance as you prepare for this next phase of your journey.

For me, radiation was pretty easy. Just looked like a sunburn by the end but I felt fine. I also tolerated tamoxifen and anastrozole very well. I’ve been able to continue living normally and teaching yoga and exercise classes. You got this.

I am 59 and just had my 16th round out of 21 today. I got an itchy rash after the second week and the cream my doctor prescribed made a big difference. I also started to get really tired about that time and after #15 spent the weekend being exhausted by simple things. I started anastrozole right before radiation so who knows if that’s making some of it more difficult. Talking to friends who went through it before me some had the same experience and for some it was no big deal. Everyone is different

I also had a sunburn like dermatitis, not too bad, after 4 weeks radiation. Lasted about a week. Never had the fatigue they warn u about. Taking anastrozole for 6 mos now. Have some hot flashes, mild joint pain. Works best for me if i take it at bedtime.

Radiation isn’t so bad. It’s painless but as treatment progresses you will have sunburn and peeling just make sure you wear all the creams that they offer you everything that I got worked so well for me when I was finished I really wasn’t so smart in doing aftercare and I should have. I actually had burning underneath my breast which I couldn’t figure it out because I don’t know how the radiation got there, but I guess it hits every area
