Only made it 7 minutes into the taxol before passing out and seizing. WTF? Was not expecting this at all. They’re going to put me on something else later.

That sounds incredibly scary and overwhelming to experience such an unexpected reaction during treatment. Severe allergic reactions to Taxol, while uncommon, can happen and it's good that the medical team was able to respond quickly and has a plan to try a different medication. Many patients find that alternative treatments work much better for them when the first option doesn't suit their body's chemistry.

Did they tell you why? Allergic reaction? The seizing would scare me more than fainting. I'm so sorry this was your experience.

@Lou P Evidently it’s the preservative in the drug that causes the anaphylactic response. They’re waiting on insurance approval for abraxane. It’s taxol without that preservative. Hopefully I respond better to that. If not then it’s taxatere. To be honest, my chemistry is outside of the statistical norm. They’re coming up with a plan to treat me without chemo as well.
