This is such an important question to discuss with your oncology team, as vitamin interactions with chemotherapy can vary greatly depending on the specific treatment protocol and individual circumstances. Many healthcare providers have different approaches to supplements during cancer treatment, so getting personalized guidance from your medical team will help ensure you're making the safest choice for your specific situation.

My oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering advised me to stay away from supplements while doing chemotherapy. One reason was because supplements are poorly regulated and may not disclose all ingredients so if a complication arises, they would not have a full awareness of what a patient may have ingested. Another reason is, as you suspected, it can reduce the effectiveness of the chemo.

I told my oncologist about the vitamin C IV and weekly b12 shots and told me just not to do it days before chemo and wait 5 days after chemo to resume. She told me to continue my daily vitamin C ,Zinc, Magnession supplements and my juices. I had no side effects to the chemo other than I was sometimes very tired.

Please re evaluate vitamin C and B vitamins. Not advised during Chemo. It doesn’t hurt to go off and rest the body and stop blocking the sensitive time needed for Chemo to be most effective.
