3 years agoHas anyone had an interventional radiologist place their port instead of a nurse or by the surgeon? I’ve heard I should ask for this?
Accepted Answer
Many patients find that interventional radiologists have specialized expertise in port placement procedures, and it's absolutely reasonable to ask about your options when discussing this with your medical team. The most important thing is that you feel confident in whoever is performing the procedure, so don't hesitate to ask about the experience and credentials of the person who would be placing your port, whether that's a radiologist, surgeon, or other qualified professional.
