2 months agoAnyone on letrozole have weight gain??

2 months agoMany people in the breast cancer community have shared similar experiences with letrozole and changes in weight. This is a common concern that comes up frequently, and it's completely understandable to wonder about potential connections between medications and how your body feels. Consider discussing any weight changes with your healthcare team, as they can help determine what factors might be involved and suggest strategies that work best for your specific situation.

2 months agoMe too. I gained 28 lbs. I’m miserable. I spoke to my endo about glp1 and he basically said just be glad you came through it as well as you have so far. Very frustrated. I’ve been trying to limit myself to less than 800 calories. Idk. This is no life balance

17 days agoI am the opposite. Been on Letrozole for 5 months (started New Years Eve 2025) and have lost weight. Almost immediately after 20 rad therapy treatments to whole breast / axillary incision area ,I developed lymphedema on left side and cording at axillary lymph node dissection site. Had 21 PT sessions Feb 11-April 15 for limited shoulder range of motion, left arm weakness, manual lymph drainage massages, etc. Rad therapy and/or Letrozole has changed the way food tastes to me. I’ve mostly pushed my way through the insomnia and am sleeping better, managing joint pain with light exercises/tai chi, managing hot flashes with some dietary changes. I am 69 yrs young. Don’t remember signing up for this BC club but here I am . I intend to be an active member in this journey, find some joy and happiness in something everyday and be grateful that I am still here to snuggle my 2 y.o. great-grandson and laugh at his antics.

16 days agoWhat dietary changes did you make to negate or lessen the hot flashes? I’ve been on Letrozole for 15 months (I was diagnosed February 2025). I’ve lost about 35 pounds. The hot flashes just started about 2 months ago.

16 days agoI’ve been on Letrozole since January of this year. Stopped taking Ozempic at same time and was hungry all the time; however, since middle of May my appetite has tapered off. I gained 4 pounds during that time but now my appetite is as if I’m still on Ozempic. I count my blessings and eat lots of berries: blackberries, strawberries, etc.

16 days agoI started keeping notes on what I was doing(or had done in 30 mins preceding) when I had hot flashes. Night sweats were not an issue. I started eliminating certain foods and changed the way I seasoned food. Here’s what is helping me.: Zero alcohol, zero sodas, restricted hot coffee to 1 a day, lots of water, cold green tea instead of my usual sweet black tea, protein from poultry, shellfish, salmon, tuna, legumes, eggs, Greek yogurt, limited white rice, pastas, potatoes. I try to “eat the rainbow” in fruits and vegetables every week. Cook (mostly) with extra virgin olive oil , butter, pink sea salt, fresh herbs, fresh citrus, fresh ginger. Still experimenting by slowly adding nuts, seeds, other spices and whole grains.

15 days agoThank you all for sharing your individual journey in the BC we have all been dealt. @ Mary with all your food descriptions are similar to how we eat currently, we eat a lot of nuts though so I will be hoping for the best when I start the Letrozole.

9 days agoYes weight gain is bothersome. I exercise 3 time weekly at gym but cant lose. I have never been heavy until letrozole. Does anyone know know if gpl-1 safe to take if on letrozole and not a diabetic?
