How Can I Improve My Blood Counts Before My Next Infusion?

I was unable to get my 3week infusion done on the 24th of October because my wbc was 2.4, my rbc was 3.46 and my platelets count was 95. I had them low before and I tried taking home remedies such as papaya extract, drinking beet juice and adding aloe vera juice. I also bought a s upplement from Amazon to help with amenia. Any suggestions to getting my numbers back to normal before my next infusion within 2 weeks?

Managing blood counts during cancer treatment can be challenging, and working closely with your healthcare team is the most important step to safely prepare for your next infusion. Consider discussing your current supplement routine with your oncologist, as they may have specific medical recommendations or want to adjust your treatment plan based on your recent lab results and overall health status.

I got an injection of udenyca. It’s a growth hormone and is given around 24 hours after chemo. It does work.

I am 75 with 11% ER+ PR-Her2 - I had chemo b4 a dmx. I am to start Tamoxifen and Verzenio. I will be having 20 radiation treatments as well. Has anyone close to my age been on both of these medications and what was the side affects? I have only been staring at the medication and not actually taking it as I am concerned with the side affects I read on these medications. Also concerned about starting radiation.

I looked at mine for about 2 weeks before I started taking them. Been 3 months now. I'm on letrozole. I had some symptoms but they went away within a few weeks. The only thing that I'm dealing with now is I think this medication keeps me awake at night. Like for several hours.

Hi Melani. My numbers have been bad for a while and I also have anemia. I had two iron infusions but they didn't work. I ultimately had to have a transfusion of 2 units packed cells. It didn't feel a huge difference in fatigue but I had a chronic cough and severe shortness of breath. Which both went away.

Hi Mary Ann. I can't take Tamoxifen. It made me very suicidal. So I am on Verzenio and Letrozole. The Letrozole gives me mild to moderate hot flashes, excessive sweating and night sweats. While annoying they are. D
