Anyone experience Very High Blood Pressure Numbers after starting the chemo regimen.Especially the anti neoplastic chemotherapy regimen taxol ? I am talking BP in the 200-239 over 98/130 range. There has to be alternative medication as I fear I already have CKD stage 3 and worried I might develop cardio problems, they wanted me to have chemo first to help shrink tumors . I am TNBC first in immediate family Native American Indian. 66 years old and live in rural area .

High blood pressure during chemotherapy treatment is a concern that many patients experience, and bringing this up with your medical team is really important. The combination of treatment effects and managing existing health conditions can feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with such significant blood pressure readings. Your healthcare team will be the best resource for discussing alternative medications or adjustments to help manage both your treatment and blood pressure safely. Many patients find that their medical teams can work together to find solutions that address both cancer treatment goals and cardiovascular health - have others in this community had similar experiences with blood pressure management during treatment?

I was on taxol for 9 weeks. Hair loss was the main problem and just feeling awful. No BO problems.

My systolic BP has definitely been 30+ points higher than my normal. You need to be sure to address with your oncologist again, especially if you become symptomatic - headache, blurred vision, swelling, etc.

Yes I discussed it today and that is exactly what my oncologist said especially if you become symptomatic with a headache ,blurred vision and if my BP gets over 160/90 with new extra Blood Pressure medications my medical team has prescribed . Wonder if having a power port Cather increases Blood Pressure also. Praying BP gets back to a safe level so I can complete my chemo infusions.
