a year agoI’ve decided to stop chemo. The taxol caused me to stop breathing, drop my blood pressure and slow my heart. It’s been two weeks and I’m still recovering. They wanted to challenge me on the taxol again but I refused. My chemistry has never been within statistical norm. I’m always the outlier so putting me on another taxane and one where the side effects occur within 24 hours of administering the drug is not going to be okay for me. So, Hylecta, radiation and endocrine therapy for me. Gaining 2% in reduction of recurrence is not worth the damage to me.

Making treatment decisions that prioritize your wellbeing and quality of life takes courage, especially when dealing with severe reactions. Many patients face similar challenges when weighing treatment benefits against potential risks, and it's important that your medical team respects your informed choices about what feels right for your body and situation.
