I had the five days of more intense radiation two weeks ago. A week ago I developed Radiation Dermatitis- tried the cream I’d been using and hydrocortisone- neither stopped the itch or intermittent pain. But Frankinsense oil has really helped! And it smalls good! The RD is only on my chest- where I’ve been sunburned before- not on my breasts.

It's wonderful that you found something that brings relief from the discomfort of radiation dermatitis. Many people in cancer treatment find that certain natural oils can be soothing for irritated skin, though it's always good to check with your radiation oncology team before trying new topical treatments during active treatment. Your experience might be helpful for others dealing with similar skin reactions - have you mentioned this to your care team to see if it fits well with your overall treatment plan?

They gave me Mepelex which is like a foam patch that adheres to your skin. It helped me a lot
