I started Letrozole only two days ago taken just two pills. My breast is burning and hurting, I’m so tired when before I started I was energized and I’m hot flashing. Two days and I feel awful. How will I do this for 8 years 😭

Starting a new medication can feel overwhelming, especially when side effects appear quickly. Many people in this community have shared similar experiences with treatment adjustments during their cancer journey. It's important to reach out to your medical team about these symptoms so they can help you navigate this part of your treatment plan and discuss any concerns you have about managing long-term therapy.

Hi Trudy, the hot flashes are the worst! I think my body is starting to adjust to the Anastrozole that I'm taking, and I have been getting less hot flashes. I'm in my 4th month now of taking the pill daily before bed. You can try to give your pill a chance to work and see if your side effects get better with time. Make note of your side effects and let your doctor know at your next appointment. If the side effects are too much to tolerate, maybe there is an alternative.

After breast surgery in April.... I got a seroma which is a fluid filled sac where the breast tissue was. I had it drained twice but that was short lived, now it's back with a vengeance and very painful. The oncologist wants to drain again but the surgeon says no. Has anyone ever had this problem? I can't even sleep on my left side. I've tried hot compresses, heating pad, warm baths.....but nothing helps! Any suggestions?
