a year agoSo my wife finished her chemo for her2+ and - breast cancer. She had 2 tumors removed and 4 nodules. She's about to start radiation treatments (15 plus 4 extra.) Please give me a heads up, on the side effects and also what to do before hand to help in all the other aspects. Thanks. Enjoy the Holidays and heal quickly.

Radiation treatment can bring various side effects like skin irritation, fatigue, and tenderness in the treated area, though experiences vary from person to person. Many patients find it helpful to prepare by using gentle, fragrance-free moisturizers, wearing loose cotton clothing, staying hydrated, and getting plenty of rest - discussing specific preparation steps with the radiation team can provide the most personalized guidance for this journey.

6 months agoRic, it really varies. On the practical side use grape seed oil… the type for scarring. Radiation should offer suggestions for lotions. Ice is helpful she may have received a heart shaped ice pack (thin and targeted for breast) in prior treatment. Fatigue and then it varies. I had a lot of digestive issues prior to breast cancer that the radiation amplified. Your wife can get support from radiation and from oncologist team. Good luck to your wife
