5 months agoNo bone Mets. It is likely not "bone cancer) but as you said spread of the lung cancer to bone. Lung cancer generally spreads locally first: same lung, mediastinal lymph nodes (in the center of the chest), other lung, but also bone, brain liver, adrenal glands. I worked in health care, but retired a few years ago. Treatment used to be radiation and I think that is still used, but if cancer has certain markers, then targeted therapy or immunotherapy may be useful. Waiting is hard. Try to keep your thoughts from too many "what ifs." You don't know what path(s) you will be taking yet. See if clinic can put you on cancelation list for earlier appt.

5 months agoHi Mary, I’ve gone thru the brain cancer and immunotherapy successfully so this thru me. I’ve had gamma knife (cerebellum) and subsequent radiation for that. I’m quite small of stature and I do not believe I could survive chemo. I’ve read about targeted radiation. The tumor is in L4. Thank you for your input. It is encouraging for me.

2 months agoWas diagnosed with NSCLC with metastasis to the bones in my lower spine. Went through 16 radiation treatments on the spine, and then a year of Keytruda. Last month's PET scan showed no cancer. Looking forward to next scan in January. Fingers crossed.

17 days agoI have stage 4 NSCLC adenocarcinoma with metastases to liver, lymph, brain, and my lower spine - L3. I had a kyphoplasty and local radiation to help with back pain, along with chemotherapy infusion and daily Tagrisso. With the combination of treatments, all my metastases either disappeared or are no longer active, and the main nodule in my lung shrank to just over 3 cm. I hope your treatments are as successful!

17 days agoI have stage 4 NSCLC with lesions on my T4. Radiation to the area has resulted in the lesions neutralized. I have nodules on my right lung that cannot be removed surgically and so received platinum drug for chemotherapy and Keytruda. I’m told that I’ll need to be on it at least for another year. Tomorrow I see my oncologist to review the PET scan from last week. Fingers crossed that I’m stable and no progression. Happy Holidays everyone!
