Breast Cancer Diagnosis: Frustration with Delayed Responses and Treatment

I was diagnosed with breast cancer 10/26 and just had a pet scan yesterday. I read it myself and sounds like I might have stage 4 (higher suv levels in 2 areas of the spine). I wanted to talk with someone at my health group about it- I’m freaking out. But I was told they would answer my questions in a week at my scheduled appointment. Very disappointed they would let someone worry for an extra week. Also I heard I would probably have chemo before surgery and my first meeting w oncologist isn’t for 2 weeks and then it could take another several weeks to get on the infusion schedule. So maybe I will literally die waiting for any kind of help from Kaiser.

Waiting for test results and treatment scheduling can feel overwhelming, especially when dealing with such uncertainty. Many patients in this community have experienced similar frustrations with healthcare system delays and the anxiety that comes with waiting for answers. Consider reaching out to patient advocacy services at your healthcare system, as they can sometimes help expedite communication or provide additional support resources during this stressful time.

Oh Kelly. I'm so sorry to hear your are having to go through all of this. It is horrible. I went through something different but similar. Reading test results before hand but not having a medical person to explain them to you was far from helpful in my personal situation. It was scary. I misunderstood some of the terminology, even though I researched the words, I still didn't get it all. And the waiting for the appointments is another stress. I am thinking of you. ❤️🙏

No you won’t! It takes two weeks for them to look over everything to do the test to redo the test. In the meantime, do some research and find yourself a functional doctor They look at the full body, and they talk your language. Be ready for whatever they say to you Kaiser sometimes isn’t the full truth. You are in charge of your body you make your decisions they’re gonna come out you would just take them off well then do what? put false breasts in so that can cause auto immune disease more cancer wonder if your body rejects it it’s not natural. Treatments take a lot out of you. I went nonaggressive alternative medicine and treatments research it and pray about it you’re gonna need them because you’re gonna feel that these people don’t care it’s $1 trillion business ladies let’s get it together and figure out why so many women have breast cancer now 16-year-old girls. I saw in there doing what we’re doing, right now! Why? What’s in our food? What’s in our water? What’s in our environment? We don’t want this back and we don’t want It affecting our daughters, sons, granddaughters, etc.
