Hi, diagnosed on 1/30 with IDC, stage 1. MRI is 2/25, had the genetic bloodwork drawn, waiting… I am Er+, Pr-, HER2 negative. Scheduled for double Mastectomy and possible reconstruction. Not sure, money… I work 2 jobs and it sucks my treatment approach may be determined by money. Not sure what the plan will be medically after the surgery. I feel like some family members are not bothering to check in while others are kind and thoughtful about seeing where I am at mentally. I know this is my journey just didn’t expect to feel this isolated already. Thanks for the ear.

Feeling isolated during cancer treatment is unfortunately common, especially when facing difficult decisions about surgery and finances while navigating varying levels of support from loved ones. Many in this community have found that connecting with others who truly understand this journey can help fill that gap, whether through online groups like this one or local support resources. The emotional challenges often feel just as overwhelming as the medical decisions, but reaching out here shows real strength in seeking connection during a tough time.

I have so many questions and thoughts about all of this. It’s preoccupying my day. I work 2 jobs, both as a therapist, I’m not used to having to ask for help, receive help and feel all this upheaval.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. I was diagnosed in November, had surgery in Jan. & will start chemo soon. You truly find out who is in your corner and who is not but I don't think you are ever truly alone in this journey. Praying for you and your recovery!
