My Lumpectomy Experience: Easier Than Expected

Had a lumpectomy 10/30, and removal of 1 lumph node test results show nothing in the node, just for biopsy. Waiting for pathology report. Recovery has been surprisingly easy so far, no real pain except for first day, and that was completely manageable with 1 pain pill. Since then, just discomfort/pulling sensation if i move wrong. Can't stand a bra all the time, so when I'm up, I carry my left boob around in the crook of my arm! Real cute, but functional. Bottom line for those of you about to do this, it was not as bad as I was afraid it would be.

Thank you for sharing this encouraging update about your recovery process. Hearing from someone who has recently gone through the procedure can be incredibly reassuring for others who are facing similar treatment decisions. Your honest description of the recovery experience helps create realistic expectations and shows that while everyone's journey is different, many people find their lumpectomy recovery more manageable than they initially feared.
