I was diagnosed with stage 0 dcis breast cancer on December 7th after 2 mammograms & biopsy. Still grieving over losing my mom to breast cancer back last april so it's been hard. My chest is small also & bc there were 2 calcification clusters, the one so big it took up half my right breast so lumpectomy was out of the question. I had a bilateral mastectomy on Feb 22. Still sore but pathology report came back & showed small traces micro invasion. So I had to have 5 lymph nodes out yday to check for disease in lymph nodes. If any sign of disease in them shows, I'll need chemo 😔 with the incision & surgery yday & still pretty sore from mastectomy, it's been rough & painful. Today is tough with pain. Having reconstruction but not sure if it will get put on hold if I do need chemo. Had one drain removed, but other wasn't ready. Hopefully Tuesday!

Thank you for sharing this incredibly challenging journey with the community. Going through cancer treatment while still grieving the loss of a mother to the same disease takes tremendous strength, and it's completely understandable that the physical pain and uncertainty about next steps feel overwhelming right now. Many others in this community have faced similar crossroads waiting for pathology results and understand how difficult it is to manage recovery while preparing for potential additional treatment. The support here can be invaluable during these tough days - feel free to share updates or ask questions as you navigate each step forward.
