Was I at Higher Risk for Breast Cancer Because of HRT?

I was just diagnosed with HR+/HER2- IDC. I have two small tumors in the same quadrant of one breast. I’ve been on HRT for 3 years and of course I’ve now stopped. Just wondering if anyone else was diagnosed after HRT usage?

Many people in this community have wondered about the connection between hormone replacement therapy and breast cancer risk. Research does show that certain types of HRT can increase breast cancer risk, particularly for hormone receptor-positive cancers, though it's important to remember that cancer development involves multiple factors working together over time. It sounds like you made a thoughtful decision to stop HRT after your diagnosis, and discussing this with your oncologist can help you understand how it may relate to your specific situation and treatment plan. You're certainly not alone in having questions about this connection.
