2 years agoNewly diagnosed w/ invasive ductal carcinoma in left breast. Not in lymph nodes per ultrasound. Not aggressive. Stage 1, estrogen and progesterone receptors shown, low HER2. But Ki67 (how fast it’s growing) is at 27% out of 1-100. Was told anything over 20% is high and grade 3. Doctor said it’s contradictory info and not sure why yet. When they do the lumpectomy, they will do test on the lump that will give more information and better know how to treat. Has anyone had this same occurrence?

Contradictory test results can definitely feel confusing and concerning, especially when you're already processing a new diagnosis. Many patients in this community have shared similar experiences where different markers seem to tell conflicting stories about their cancer. The additional testing during your lumpectomy should provide clearer answers and help your medical team create the most appropriate treatment plan for your specific situation.

6 months agoSounds like what I’ve heard from two surgeons. Testing the cancer they remove tells the whole story of the situation.

6 months agoI have invasive lobular carcinoma. Doesn’t seem to be in lymph node ER/PR+ HER2- Ki67 is 25% and they staged it at a 2. Trying to decide between the lumpectomy with radiation or mastectomy.

6 months agoChauntay: I have ILC . Er/Pr + her-2-. No cancer in sentinel lymph node. What was your Onco score? I had lumpectomy with clear margins at Mayo, Fl.. I’ll be 68 Sunday. Because of my age and the low grade Onco score 17% and small size 0.8, I qualify for hypo fractional radiation which is a five day radiation versus a five week and no chemo. It is a standard of care for Mayo to do radiation if chemo is not advised. However there have been studies in Canada and international medical journals that women my age with these dynamics can pass on radiation. I look forward to your replies and I will pray for you.

6 months agoI don’t have an ONCO score yet. Size 1.2cm. I meet with an oncologist for the first time today. I will ask him about hypo fractional radiation. Would you recommend the hypo fractional?

6 months agoSimilar. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma stage 2 with only 2 lymph nodes + on October 6th, ER, and PR + and Her2 low Ki67 80%. Genetics came back negative. PET scan found supraclavical node and biopsy confirmed + so now stage 3. But I still have no answer to why the high Ki67 with the ER and PR +.
