What Should I Ask at My Post-Op Appointment After Second Breast Cancer Surgery?

I just had my second surgery to clean up the margins. 12/1. My post stop is on the 13th and I am ER+ PR + HER2- . They did find one lymph node positive for cancer and my first surgery. They cleaned up the margins on my second which puts me at stage 3 grade 2 and I have no idea what to ask her at my post-op. Cuz after my first surgery at post stop I thought we'd be talking about chemo and radiation and then got hit with no, we need to go back in and do another surgery.

Post-op appointments can feel overwhelming, especially after unexpected turns in treatment plans. Consider asking about the pathology results, what the clear margins mean for your next steps, and the timeline for discussing treatment options like chemotherapy or radiation. Many community members find it helpful to write down questions beforehand and bring a trusted person to help remember the discussion - this appointment will likely provide much clearer direction for your treatment path ahead.
