A stage 1 diagnosis often means the cancer was caught early, which can be encouraging for treatment outcomes. The feelings of being overwhelmed and scared are completely natural responses to this news. Many community members find it helpful to write down questions before doctor appointments, connect with others who've been through similar experiences, and take things one step at a time while building their support team.

Very true. Just concentrate on the first step you need to take and then the next. Find a treatment team you trust.

If you have a trusted friend or family member, talk honestly with them and take them with you to appointments. My adult daughter came with me and it was such a help. She heard things i missed, remembered things i forgot, and kept a level head. She talked me down from my panic state.
