I know someone who’s lived with stage zero for 10 years. They haven’t done anything but monitor her closely. She also does an extra ultrasound through one of those portable locations when they come through our city to make sure that they see the same thing that her doctor is saying to her I’m really surprised that the number of stage zeros that are being treated very dramatically as opposed to being watched.

I am in the beginning of the same journey. Diagnosed 5/14 and had appt last week w breast surgeon. Am scheduled with genetic counselor 7/07 because sister died of pancreatic cancer in 2023 and had a grandfather died of stomach cancer. Guess it is all looked at for whether I have lumpectomy or double mastectomy. DCIS high grade. I am using AI to get questions to ask at genetic counseling and then more questions to ask at plastic surgeon. What I don’t like is how long just getting appointments take. I’m guessing surgery won’t happen until at least mid August
