What's external beam radiation therapy like for Stage IIB prostate cancer?

I was recently diagnosed with intermediate-favorable risk Stage IIB prostate cancer. My doctor mentioned that external beam radiation therapy is one of the primary treatment options we're considering. From what I understand, this treatment uses targeted radiation beams from outside the body to destroy cancer cells while trying to protect the healthy tissue around my prostate. It would involve daily sessions over several weeks. I'd really appreciate hearing from others who have been through something similar with this type and stage of prostate cancer. • If you had external beam radiation therapy, what was your day-to-day experience like during treatment? • What advice or tips do you wish you had known before starting this treatment?

The community here has valuable experiences to share about navigating the treatment schedule, managing any side effects, and practical tips for the weeks of therapy. Connecting with others who have walked this path can provide real insights that complement the medical information from your healthcare team.
